Every new year, I make plans for what is to come. Here's the plan at this point:
Clans of Mull Series
Book 2 The Burden of a Scottish Chieftain releasing January 16th
Lennox MacVey and Meg Beaton
Book 3 The Misery of a Scottish Laird releasing the end of March
Sloan Rankin and Eva MacVey
Book 4 -untitled yet releasing early June
Book 5 -untitled yet releasing September
Book 6 novella releasing early November-a Christmas novella
Which characters in book 4, 5, and 6? I'm not sure yet. I have lots to choose from: Taskill MacVey, Brian MacQuarie, Broc Grant, Sheona Rankin, the list will grow as you know. This is why I don't plan that far ahead. It all depends on how each story goes. I create new characters and before you know it, they're begging to have their own story!
To answer your questions:
- How many in the series? I'm not sure yet. It depends on YOU. Do the books sell? Do you want more? Only time will tell.
- What about REAM this year? Sorry. Not on my agenda. The site had a drastic change, and I don't know if I can go back. We'll see how it progresses.
- What about after you finish the series? Not sure yet. I may just write random books of characters who I missed along the way. I could go into a different genre. Who knows? I have some ideas!
Reality is that sales are way down in historical romance. I'm willing to ride it out for a year or so, but if it continues, I'll have to change. Will I stop writing? No, but I can make changes–go wide and out of KU, change genres, change prices.
